Joel R. Rollins,
CTS-R , is well known throughout the professional AV
industry for his contributions to industry training and his
extensive background in AV rental, staging and
installation. Before joining EHA, Joel was General Manager
of Riverview Systems Group, Inc. Riverview, based in San
Jose, California, is an AV staging and installation company
specializing in major national events and
design/installation projects for Silicon Valley firms.
Joel’s career has covered many aspects of the AV
industry. As Director of Sales for Extron Electronics, Joel
managed the sales support teams and authored the Extron
training programs for employees and dealers. Prior to
working with Extron, Joel was Senior Vice President and
Chief Operating Officer at ADCOM Presentation Group
Limited, one of North America’s largest AV companies
(now a member of the Telav/AVW group).
During his two decades of experience in the professional AV
industry, Joel has designed AV/Presentation facilities for
corporations such as AT&T, IBM, Ford Motor Company, NCR
and EDS, and directed the staging of the 1995 and 1996
Microsoft Global Summit. In addition, Joel has been an
active contributor to the International Communications
Industries Association (ICIA) educational programs. His
contributions include serving as instructor at the ICIA
Institute for Professional Development, co-authoring and
chairing AV and Multimedia courses, and authoring the
ICIA’s Rental School. In 2001, Joel received the ICIA
Educator of the Year award for his contributions to the
development of the AV industry.
Joel is a past member of the ICIA Board of Governors and
has served as the chief designer for the annual Interactive
Presentation Center of the Future (IMPCF), a special event
held at INFOCOMM. He is a frequent public speaker,
appearing at venues including Infocomm, COMDEX, Siggraph,
and NCGA. Currently, Joel writes a monthly column for
Rental and Staging Systems magazine, and
contributes to several other prominent
industry journals.
